ROBERT RODRIQUEZ AND QUENTIN TARANTINO JOIN THE AUSTIN GUITARTOWN PROJECT

AUSTIN, TEXAS—March 29, 2007— Award Winning Film Directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino sign, Dia de los Muerto, a ten-foot Gibson Guitar sculpture designed by visual artist George Yepes as part of the Austin GuitarTown project. The directors were in Austin hosting the regional premiere of their Dimension Film’s’ GRINDHOUSE.  This Austin-made double feature hits movie theaters on April 6, 2007. For more information, please go to www.grindhousemovie.net .

Seventy colorful and unique guitar sculptures, designed by local and talented visual artists, can be found throughout the streets and businesses of Austin .  Each is a “one of a kind†piece of art depicting favorite musical or Texas themes.  In the Fall of 2007, the sculptures will be auctioned off and will benefit four local charities: The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM); The Austin Museum of Art (AMOA); American Youthworks; and the Austin Children’s Museum.Â
