Music Instrument: Gibson Foundation Supports A Child’s Right

Through support provided by the Gibson Foundation , A Child’s Right was able to install five water purification systems to orphanages and child welfare centers in China earlier this month. The water purification systems will provide access to clean water for thousands of children and youth – and allows newborns to receive formula made with purified water for the first time. Many of the children at these orphanages have life-long disabilities – and all of the orphanages have had severe outbreaks of giardia and dysentery in the last few years. These water systems will remedy much of that. The five water purification systems were installed In Chongqing, Xiushan, Nanchang , Fuling and Fencheng.

A Child’s Right is a nonprofit relief organization formed by a collective of concerned professionals wishing to change the current living standards and health of impoverished children the world over.Although there are several organizations focusing on clean water and hygiene education in developing countries, most do not focus specifically on children, especially those living in urban areas. A Child’s Right was established to fill this gap and provide charitable relief for children living in orphanages and street shelters as well as those attending schools and visiting children’s hospitals in impoverished urban and semi-urban areas in underdeveloped countries.

The Gibson Foundation is the philanthropic division of Gibson Guitar, the world’s musical instrument leader. Founded in 2002, the Gibson Foundation is committed to making the world a better place for children by creating, developing and supporting programs and other non-profit organizations in their efforts to advance education, music and the arts, the environment and health & welfare causes. For more information on Gibson Foundation go to www.gibsonfoundation.org .
