LINKIN PARK Offering Limited-Edition Book On Recycled Paper during tour
Launch Radio Networks reports: LINKIN PARK is making available on the Projekt Revolution tour a limited-edition, 50-page book called “Revolution Unseen: The Hidden Art of Projekt Revolution”. The book features artwork by LINKIN PARK members Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE’s Gerard Way and Ray Toro, and others on the tour. The book is printed on recycled paper, which Bennington said is part of a larger effort by LINKIN PARK to conserve and reuse materials. “All of our records, any paper product is all printed on this new material that is actually, it’s like super-recycled,” he said. “Even our inks are environmentally friendly, like, everything we do, we’re trying to focus on polluting as little as possible.”
Proceeds from the book will go to Music for Relief, to benefit disaster relief and reduce global warming.
The Projekt Revolution tour is an environmentally conscious “green” event, with one dollar from each ticket being donated to American Forests for their Global ReLeaf program to plant trees to help reduce global temperatures.
The tour’s next date is Tuesday (July 31) in Chula Vista, California.
Fans who want a soundboard-quality recording of LINKIN PARK’s set at each stop on the trek can pick one up at the merchandise booth after the show. Quantities are limited to 1,000 per night.

MUSIC INSTRUMENT: SENNHEISER GROOVES WITH THE METERS’ LEO NOCENTELLI

MUSIC INSTRUMENT: SENNHEISER GROOVES WITH THE METERS’ LEO NOCENTELLI
EVOLUTION WIRELESS G2 GUITAR SYSTEM GROOVES WITH THE METERS’ LEO NOCENTELLI
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA (JULY 16, 2007): Fans of New Orleans music need no
introduction to Leo Nocentelli. A founding member of The Meters - for many,
the band that defined the very essence of the Crescent City’s bluesy,
funk-based dance groove - Nocentelli constantly performs live worldwide with
a variety of groups, including the New Orleans Social Club. And this year he
equipped his guitar with Sennheiser’s EW 372 G2 guitar system.
Nocentelli had been looking for a top-quality, robust wireless guitar setup
for a long time, he says. “I never ran into the right one until I started
using Sennheiser. The Sennheiser G2 setup really comes in very handy for me
and works out very well.”
Typically, says the master funk guitarist, rival RF guitar pickup systems
feature plastic power packs that break very easily. The Sennheiser unit is
metal and I’ve dropped it a few times and nothing happened to it. It’s a
very durable piece of equipment and I’m very happy with it. Further, he
adds, he can be sure of maintaining a clean signal for an extended period.
“I like the fact that it doesn’t eat up batteries.”
During a long and storied career Nocentelli has played with some of the
industry’s top names. He’s recorded with Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Dr.
John, Robert Palmer and Peter Gabriel and worked with Paul McCartney, Patti
LaBelle, Etta James and Sting, as well as performed live with The Meters on
tours with the Rolling Stones and others. In 2001, Nocentelli received a
Grammy lifetime achievement award along with the other members of The
Meters, who include Art and Cyril Neville of Neville Brothers fame. The band
reformed in 2005 and continues to perform with various lineups.
Most recently, Nocentelli has been performing with the New Orleans Social
Club, a loose affiliation of New Orleans musical royalty. We were asked to
do a charity album following Hurricane Katrina, he says. We thought everyone
would go their different ways, doing what they did before they got together
to do this album, but we’ve been working ever since.
The lineup varies according to who is available, he explains, but can
typically include Ivan Neville, George Porter Jr., the bassist with The
Meters, and Henry Butler. Whenever we get together its a special thing,
because we don’t do it so much. I hope we can do more with some regularity,
because the band is really in demand, says Nocentelli.
Serendipity initially brought the guitarist together with the Sennheiser 372
G2 guitar system. A high-profile artist with an unrivalled pedigree,
Nocentelli is much in demand by music equipment manufacturers as an endorsee
and product demonstrator, and consequently has attended the NAMM Show for
over a decade. “At this year¹s show,” he says, “I ran into Dawn Birr,
Sennheiser’s product manager for professional products. It was a magical
thing. I told her I was interested in a wireless system and when I told her
who I was she was overwhelmed. There’s an album that I recorded with The
Meters called “Cabbage Alley” and she said that’s her and her husband’s
favorite album. So there was a mutual friendship there immediately.
