Masters of Horror movie: Garris and Holland August 14 from Anchor Bay
ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT SPREADS FEAR WITH MASTERS OF HORROR –
MICK GARRIS’ “VALERIE ON THE STAIRS”  AND TOM HOLLAND’S “WE ALL SCREAM FOR
ICE CREAM”
Available on DVD August 14, 2007
TORONTO, ON – August is one of the hottest months of the year. Now with the
release of two separate Masters of Horror episodes on DVD August 14th, it
may also be the most chilling month. First time MOH director Tom Holland
(Fright Night, Child’s Play) dips into childhood fears with “We All Scream
for Ice Cream,” while series creator and Co-Executive Producer Mick Garris
stays ahead of the pack with his writers’ block shocker “Valerie on the
Stairs.”
Adapted by David J. Schow from John Farris’ short story, “We All Scream for
Ice Cream” stars William Forsythe (The Devil’s Rejects) as Buster the Clown,
a mentally challenged man who drives an ice cream truck. One day while on
his daily route, a group of kids play a cruel prank, with tragic
consequences. Years later the same group, now adults with families of their
own are slowly being exterminated – by their own children. Buster and his
ice cream truck have returned for the sweet revenge that will leave their
children screaming for ice cream – and their parents screaming for mercy.
Adapted from a Clive Barker story, “Valerie on the Stairs” stars Tyron
Leitso (“Dinotopia”) as Rob Hanisee, an unpublished writer living at a
commune for aspiring and broke novelists. While the rejection letters
continue to pile up, Rob suspects that the house may be haunted by more than
just the specters of failed authors. Valerie, a gorgeous but mysterious
apparition appears in the hallways; Rob believes that he has found his muse,
yet the ghost of this beautiful woman cries out in fear – from a beast in
the walls who owns her body and soul. Tony Todd (Candyman) and Christopher
Lloyd (Back to the Future) co-star.
TOM HOLLAND’S “WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM” scoops out the following
delectable bonus features:
* Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1), enhanced for 16×9 TVs
* Audio commentary featuring Director Tom Holland and Writer David J. Schow
* Script (DVD-ROM)
* Photo Gallery
