SPRING 2008 - John Fluevog Fashionable Shoes
To commemorate the Ten Year Anniversary of the Original Body Parts Shoe, John Fluevog is pleased to announce the latest release in his Signature Series this Spring: The New Body Parts Pump.
The Body Parts Family was a Signature Series originally created for one season, 10 years ago (see original shoe below). The shoe family with the phallic heel, was John’s Anti-AIDS shoe. As his Message, now etched into the sole, proclaims: Your Body Parts are not Communal Property.
The Body Parts shoe was also a reaction to what, in John’s humble opinion, was the overuse and leverage of sex and nudity in the media and advertising. As John says, “I wanted to make a statement about it, I wanted it to be gutsy, I wanted people to notice. I figured, it takes balls to design a shoe with a penis-shaped heel.“
The Limited and Luxurious Body Parts Pump comes in three colour variations: black with a black heel, red with a red heel, and black with a gold heel. The gold detailing is ever-present on the Pump. The lining is a soft, shiny gold leather (from the finest gold goats), the leather sole has gold painted edges and the gold base of the reptilian print upper shines through as it did on the endangered Egyptian reptile it’s based on.
Designed by John in Vancouver and made in Portugal, the Pump will retail for $359 CA/US in John Fluevog Stores and online at fluevog.com early Spring 2008.
