HISTORY:Beginning in 1992, Caustic Truths has evolved into a very diverse magazine, covering all spectrums
of heavy music, whether it be traditional punk music, classic hardcore or the many diverse styles
of metal. Various music labels covering different spectrums of music have also at one point or
another become a part of Caustic Truth’s evolution. However, the magazine doesn’t cater exclusively
to the world of music. The realms of video games, the fashion world and the movie industry have also
been covered, bringing an even more open-minded demographic. Artists as diverse as Johnny Rotten (of
the Sex Pistols), Ministry, Paul D’ianno (of Iron Maiden), and Zakk Wylde (of the Black Label
Society, and Ozzy Osborne) have been featured as the cover personalities. As well, other
personalities such as Jello Biafra, Amy Lee (of Evanescence), Lamb of God, Fat Mike (of NOFX), Sonic
Youth, Sum 41, The White Stripes, and The Hives have been given the opportunity to express their
opinions through in-depth interviews. Due to a stellar response in the underground and word of mouth,
Caustic Truths has progressed from its early days as a black and white fanzine to a national magazine
with full glossy colour covers carried by big distribution chains.
SNAGGLETOOTH MAGAZINE
Caustic Truth’s Sister publication, SnaggleTooth Magazine (named after a Motörhead song) reared its
ugly head some time in 2004, not as an alter-ego of Caustic Truths but more of a continuation of
established principles. Focusing slightly more on the pure Metal world, the publication was received
well, and such personalities as Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH, SLIPKNOT, ROB ZOMBIE, LACUNA COIL and
BLACK SABBATH made appearance in the magazine. The publication ran for 9 straight issues and it is on
hiatus at the moment.
