GOD FORBID Announce Release Date For Earthsblood;
Post New Audio Tracks Online
The epic and grandiose musical landscape of the new GOD FORBID album proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that this group have paved a new path out from the stagnant metalcore scene and the future looks to be a very bright one. The stunning new effort, Earthsblood, blends together the perfect amount of brutality, melodies and utter catchiness against a wall of sonic excess and pummeling groove-laden riffs.
Frontman Byron Davis steps up his game to new heights and delivers his most aggressive and angst-ridden performance yet, while the dynamic guitar tandem composed of Dallas and Doc Coyle shred with precision and tenacity to deliver captivating harmonies that scream to the heavens. The backbone of the band, bassist John Outcalt and drummer Corey Piece, lock in a rhythm section that beats the listener into submission giving room for the remaining members to show off their remarkable musical prowess.
Earthsblood is set for a Feb. 24th North American release and Feb. 16th throughout Europe. The group have posted a new audio sampler composed of sections of a few new tracks. Click on the link below now to check it out. Stay tuned to www.myspace.com/godforbid over the coming weeks for news updates and for the grand unveiling of the album’s striking cover art.

Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) further states: “Even though it’s three months until the release date, the GOD FORBID camp thought it would be a great idea to give a little sneak peak of the actual music from Earthsblood to whet your appetites. This sampler is meant to give some insight into the diverse nature and depth of the album. We hope this makes all the fans as excited as we are for the record!”
Earthsblood was produced by Eric Rachel (Atreyu) with Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory, Threat Signal) handling all vocal production and Jens Bogren (Opeth) on mixing duties. This is an entirely new GOD FORBID that have matured beyond their years and are now more focused than ever before. The depth and diversity showcased on this new album is easily going to position them as of one the most innovative bands within the genre.
Tommy Lee of Motley Crue admits he is working on new METHODS OF MAYHEM album
November 19, 2008
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee revealed during an interview with Hellena Mihailidou of Greece’s Metalzone.gr that he is currently working on a new album from his METHODS OF MAYHEM project. Tommy hopes to get the CD completed by next May/June and have it released before the end of 2009.
Lee’s entire interview with Metalzone.gr is available for download as an MP3 audio file at this location.
Lee formed METHODS OF MAYHEM in 1999 after he left MÖTLEY CRÜE. The all-star project collaboration with rapper TiLo featured input from LIMP BIZKIT’s Fred Durst, THE CRYSTAL METHOD, Kid Rock, Snoop Dogg, and Mix Master Mike. After signing to MCA, METHODS OF MAYHEM issued its self-titled debut LP in late 1999.
MÖTLEY CRÜE has revealed the dates and venues for its upcoming North American arena tour, which will begin on February 9 in San Diego and finish up on March 18 in Portland, Maine. The bill will also include HINDER, THEORY OF A DEADMAN and THE LAST VEGAS, winners of the first “Guitar Center On-Stage: Your Chance to Make Rock History” contest. Tickets for the road trip go on sale Friday (November 21) in most markets, with prices ranging from $25 to $75. This will be the CRÜE’s first North American trek since this past summer’s Crüe Fest package.
Many of the dates on the new tour will be in cities that Crüe Fest did not reach. Another edition of Crüe Fest is in the works for next summer.

Axl Rose of Guns N Roses allows online samples from all Chinese Democracy album songs
November 19, 2008
Dutch retailer vanLeest has posted 30-second samples of all the tracks that appear on GUNS N’ ROSES‘ new album, “Chinese Democracy”. Check them out at this location.
The song “Better” off “Chinese Democracy” received its world premier yesterday morning (Monday, November 17) on a number of U.S. stations, including Q104.3 FM, which is currently streaming the track at this location.
“Chinese Democracy” will be released in the U.S. on November 23 exclusively through Best Buy. The 14-song set will be available on CD, vinyl, and as a download. While singer Axl Rose has remained silent, co-managers Irving Azoff and Andy Gould said in a statement, “The release of ‘Chinese Democracy’ marks a historic moment in rock n’roll. We’re launching with a monumental campaign…that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. GUNS N’ ROSES fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning.”
One new song, “Shackler’s Revenge”, debuted on September 14 through the Rock Band 2 video game, while another, called “If The World”, can be heard in the new film “Body of Lies”.
“Chinese Democracy” is the first album of new material from GUNS N’ ROSES since 1991’s “Use Your Illusion I” and “Use Your Illusion II”.

Was Velvet Revolver dropped by their label? Next album threatened?
November 19, 2008
As the long awaited release of Axl Rose’s version of Guns N Roses’ mythical 14 years in the making album ‘Chinese Democracy’ looms next week, Blabbermouth.net is reporting that they have received word from a reliable source that RCA Records (a Sony BMG label) has dropped Velvet Revolver, the band featuring former Guns ‘N’ Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.
Velvet Revolver released two full-length albums through RCA/Sony BMG — 2004’s “Contraband”, which has sold 1.98 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan; and its follow-up, “Libertad”, which has shifted 301,000 units in the U.S. since its July 2007 release.
Velvet Revolver has been looking for a new frontman since dismissing Scott Weiland back in April. Rumored candidates have included ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach, former MTV VJ Steve Isaacs (The Panic Channel) and ex-Spacehog vocalist Royston Langdon, who apparently had several successful rehearsal sessions with the band.

Look at that, original Guns N Roses Steven Adler riding off Chinese Democracy album success
November 19, 2008
Many a Guns N’ Roses fan thought the possibility of listening to Chinese Democracy — never mind doing it with a frosty, complimentary Dr. Pepper in hand — was a far off fever dream. But after a 17-year-wait, you can’t help but think that GNR have instilled a new sense of hope — not just in the Wal Mart-shopping public, but also, it seems, in the former members of the band itself.
Original drummer Steven Adler is blabbing to Rolling Stone that he’d like nothing more than to join crazy ol’ Axl Rose for a GNR reunion tour and album.
There are just a few things holding Adler back. First of all, the 43-year old was booted from the (hard partying) band back in June 1990 due to his out-of-control drug habit.
And things, unfortunately, don’t appear to have changed much since then — apart from the advent of VH1 celeb-reality programming. Adler is booked for his second season of out-crazying Jeff Conaway on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. He completed the first season of the show — with the promise of starring in a spinoff called Sober Living — only to be arrested in July ‘07 for possession of heroin, being under the influence and an outstanding warrant.
Earlier this week, Adler appeared in court to face those charges. According to Rolling Stone, it’s his hope to be shipped back to rehab instead of jail — and then, you know, eventually tour with Axl.
“When he gets sober they’ll accept him into the band and then they’ll do a comeback album and world tour,” the drummer’s lawyer told the mag. “That’s the dream of Steven Adler.”
