Muse Distribution International and Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada Premieres
Durham County: Season One
On DVD September 9, 2008
‘Dark, moody, and emotionally taut…it’s one of the best Canadian shows of the year.’ - NOW Magazine
Toronto, ON – Muse Distribution International has engaged Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada, a leader in the crime and horror genre, as its exclusive service agent in Canada to distribute Durham County, the sophisticated and powerful series that explores violence in a suburban setting, in the Canadian home entertainment market. This title will be available for the first time ever on DVD September 9, 2008 in a three disc set packaged in a stunning foil slip case. Season two of Durham County is heading into production this fall and will premiere on The Movie Network (eastern Canada) and Movie Central (western Canada) in spring 2009.
Durham County is an emotionally compelling six-episode dramatic series that combines police procedural with an intense family drama. It explores the complex relationship between a homicide cop, Mike Sweeney, played by Hugh Dillon (Hard Core Logo, Flashpoint) and his adversary, Ray Prager, who appears to be a serial killer, played by Justin Louis (Trump Unauthorized). They have a shared history that goes all the way back to high school; as well as unfinished business and dark secrets. You think you can leave your past behind. But you can’t…
Hélène Joy (Murdoch Mysteries) plays Sweeney’s wife Audrey who has recently returned home from the hospital after a battle with breast cancer, and Laurence Leboeuf (Human Trafficking) is their 16 year old daughter with a dark streak. Ray’s wife Traci, Sonya Salomaa (The Collector), is a knockout blonde in her early thirties and Greyston Holt (A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story) is their son Ray Jr, a talented writer who is belittled by his father and an outsider at school.
They say there are only six degrees of separation between you and anyone else in the world, but sometimes it’s not even that. Sometimes the most brutal evil you can imagine is already in your world. Sometimes he’s just across the street.

NCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT PROUDLY PRESENTS THE EMOTIONAL JOURNEY OF AN ICONIC R&B ARTIST
THE LAST DAYS OF LEFT EYE
Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes’ Unflinching Personal Journey Available on DVD for the First Time September 9th
TORONTO, ON – She performed with soul and conviction, but few would know what troubled her soul. Talented and vibrant, Lisa Lopes was a star who shined brightly in the music world with the group TLC, and no one could have predicted her tragic end. On September 9, Anchor Bay Entertainment will release on DVD the thoughts and emotions of her final days with The Last Days of Left Eye. Originally produced for the VH1 Rock Docs franchise and directed by Academy Award® nominee Lauren Lazin, Last Days of Left Eye has screened to sold-out audiences at film festivals around the world. Featuring Lopes, her family, and the group TLC, this DVD set includes never-before-seen (or heard) special features such as deleted scenes and an exclusive unreleased song, “Let’s Just Do It”, courtesy of Mass Appeal Entertainment.
Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes traveled a long and challenging road. She was a distinctive and flamboyant rapper, as well as one of the creative forces behind TLC, who gained international fame with hit songs like “Waterfalls” “What about Your Friends?”, and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.” The group would become one of the best selling female R&B groups of all time, but the whirlwind of fame was suffocating, and at the height of its popularity, Lopes had to escape the chaos of the media, and regain control over her life.
Lopes thought she had finally discovered some peace and enlightenment in a remote area in Honduras. As she began a new stage of her life, it seemed that she might find the happiness she always wanted and be free to start life anew.
Using a video camera and the encouragement of those closest to her, she documented what would become her final days in journals and private home movies. Sadly, while on this spiritual journey in 2002, Lopes would be suddenly killed in an auto accident, just before her 30th birthday; she captured the tragic event with her own video camera.
The Last Days of Left Eye is an unforgettably moving documentary that provides insight into the life of a musical superstar who seemed to have regained a new spirit for life just as an untimely death took it away.
The Last Days of Left Eye is a VH1 production directed by Lauren Lazin and produced by Lauren Lazin and Katy Garfield. David Beinstein served as editor, Amy Goldberg as segment producer and Steven Vannucci as associate producer. Ronald Lopes, Reigndrop Lopes, Wanda Lopes-Coleman, George Moll, Brad Abramson, Shelly Tatro and Michael Hirschorn executive produced.
