Interview:  Is Taking Back Sunday ready to give up their control of modern punk music?

TAKING BACK SUNDAY
Taking Back Sunday the number of bands rushing to take their place in the Pantheon of the truly talented increases with the passing of each and every day, the deluge of also-rans and wannabes can leave the average fan scratching their head in disbelief and consternation. Interview:  The aspects of death metal scrutinized seem to be technically fine for Cryptopsy

CRYPTOPSY

music, the speed, originality and the overall brutality. The Canadian quintet known as Cryptopsy have double checked all those categories with aplomb and laid the blueprint for other bands to try and follow along. So where has this quintessential death metal act been the past several months? Good question, and that’s exactly what spawned this interview…

Interview: Strapping Young Lad are metal guys who like heavy metal

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD

hospitalizes one of its members, that’s street-cred, plain and simple. For Strapping Young Lad, they have that tucked under their belt as well their own revival from over a four-year hiatus. Consider the aforementioned the recipe for hype, and Strapping Young Lad deliver the musical goods via their latest album SY

Interview: Did KATATONIA ever put out an album which be the best of this decade?

Interview: Did KATATONIA ever put out an album which be the best of this decade?

While there should be little doubt that 2003 s Viva Emptiness is the album of the decade thus far, one had to wonder how Sweden s Katatonia
would follow up their masterwork. Having made a career out of releasing some of the darkest and most sincere metal known to man, Katatonia
have rode this wave into 2006, and have upped the ante once again with The Great Cold Distance. As it stands now in the early stages of 06, no
album will be able to match the sonic depth and introspection that is on full display here, nor will anyone in the right mind be able to grasp what
is happening in a matter of a few listens.
