ATT Eddie: You should be called Van Halen 2 while on tour not Van Halen

ATT Eddie: You should be called Van Halen 2 while on tour not Van Halen

Let’s face it. It ain’ t the same. We have seen some lacklustre guitar solos. But now he is happy to play with his son. Nice but don’t butcher the name and legacy of Van Halen without Mr Anthony. It ain’t the same and you know it. I don’t care about your ego. You should bring back Valerie and the whole family can go out as family tour just like the Osmonds. You can then call yourself Van Halen 2 and still live out your dream of playing with Wolfgang. Screw David Lee Roth. He is a big boy. Bring back Valerie. You are three quarters there!!

See happy Eddie in the latest whatever magazine it was.

Pretty Boy Floyd is back on tour with Animal of the Muppets playing back up drums

Pretty Boy Floyd is back on tour with Animal of the Muppets playing back up drums

Yes they are back with our favorite drummer of all time, ANIMAL in the Muppets!! Anyhow the band is expected to Club Vodka March 1 as a very slow set. They are still a little hung over from their last tour 17 years ago. They will slowly make their way into playing select music festivals. This could include the Rocklohoma with other pot bellied, pink spandex wearing long haired wankers in those reunited hair metal bands. Wohooo, More stuff to laugh at!!

Wath out Scott Weiland, Velvet Revolver could have a new singer as you missed the Sundance tour show

Wath out Scott Weiland, Velvet Revolver could have a new singer as you missed the Sundance tour show

This was sent over to Blabbermouth by Matthew Moon. He was the one who filled in a for Scott Weiland at Sundance while he was enjoying the sun in Florida

"[A few days ago] I was performing at a Sundance Film Festival event in Salt Lake City, UT. After my performance at Rose Wagner Theater, I began driving the 25 minutes it takes to get back up to Park City. I checked my voicemail and there was a frantic message from my friend Jenna Lynn. ‘Mattie Moon, it’s Jenna,’ she said. ‘Call me back, it’s urgent, urgent, urgent, URGENT — about tonight,’ she continued, tension in her otherwise smooth voice. ‘Come play with VELVET REVOLVER, please come sing…we need somebody who can sing…call me…bye!’
"If you are not familiar, VELVET REVOLVER is a rock band comprised of rock n’ roll icons Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum from GUNS N’ ROSES, and Dave Kushner and Scott Weiland from STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. I looked at my traveling companion, Scott Kusmirek (current drummer for the GIN BLOSSOMS), and said, ‘Dude…I think they want me to sing with VELVET REVOLVER tonight!’ My stomach began to turn. Five minutes later I received a text from my friend Daniel Maltzman that said, ‘Wanna play vocals for VELVET tonight?’ I looked at Scott and we both started laughing hysterically. ‘Hell yeah!’ I texted back. Apparently, VELVET frontman Scott Weiland had missed his flight from Los Angeles and would not be able to make the gig…
"We jetted up the mountain as fast as we could. While we were driving, I began downloading lyrics off the net from my Blackberry — I had never even heard a VELVET REVOLVER song before! When we arrived I was quickly escorted backstage to meet the band. I walked in, said hello, and took my guitar out — we began mapping out a game plan. Duff asked me if I knew any STONES’ covers and I told him I knew ‘Honkey Tonk Woman’. I started jotting the lyrics down on a piece of paper. Soon after, Donovan Leitch, son of legendary singer Donovan, arrived and began learning songs too. Then came Cisco Adler (from WHITESTARR and ex-boyfriend of Mischa Barton who was also at the festival…). He was accompanied by actress E.G. Daily, best known for her role in the cult classic movie ‘Valley Girl’. We ran through the song in an empty stairwell and then made our way to the stage. My song was up second from last, so I stood by and watched as Donovan and Cisco sang ‘Rock N’ Roll’ by LED ZEPPELIN.
"Right before their song was about to finish, I noticed Paris Hilton making her way to the front row — I actually thought about running! Could there be any more pressure than this? Then Paris jumped on the stage and made her way over to where we were standing. I took the microphone from Cisco’s hand as drummer Matt Sorum started the legendary cowbell count-off that signifies the beginning of one of the best ROLLING STONES’ songs ever. When the time came, I began to sing, ‘I met a gin soaked, barroom queen in Memphis…’ The whole crowd was singing along - everyone was grooving! Then Cisco and E.G. joined me on the harmonies — it was AWESOME! The band was so friendly and cool — there was certainly something very serendipitous about Sundance this year!"

NOTE TO SCOTT: Dude, don’t blame us, you should have been there with your band mates. Pretty simple math don’t you think? When is your DUI hearing again?

So how Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue goes on tour become the bad guy with drugs, kids, and affairs?

If a rock star with four children and one on the way goes on tour, has an affair, starts drinking and doing drugs again, and comes home and leaves his wife two weeks after she had a C-section birth somehow is a good guy—please explain(I  don’t quite  get the question of “So how does Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue become the bad guy while he was on tour?”

Celebrated spoken word artist/musician Saul Williams has been from music to movies and back again, known for his blend of poetry and hip-hop as well as his leading role in the independent film Slam.

Williams collaborated with Nine Inch Nails front man, Trent Reznor, on his third album to create the “love child” that is The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust, Offered to fans as a free download with the option of contributing $5 to support Williams, marking him as one of the first non-mainstream artists to offer their album for free on the internet, bypassing the role of a record label.

This album captures everything I have aimed for in a song. Of course, as a performer, what truly inspires me is the opportunity to perform them live. The Niggytardust concept sets me free to do more on stage with costume, etc. than one might expect from a regular Saul Williams show.”

Williams’ politically charged lyrics along with the collaboration of visual designers and artists are all a part of the Niggytadust experience. The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust is available only at niggytarsust.com.

Be sure to experience Saul Williams live at The Mod Club on April 14th!

He’s been sneaking back into our consciousness. We’ve seen him blast riff-driven fireworks in a nationally syndicated Dunkin’ Donuts Ad. He laid his cards out for VH1’s Rock And Roll Celebrity Tournament. He teased us with a taste of his live show at New York’s Hard Rock CafĂ© on Halloween. Throughout 2007, Ace Frehley has just been preparing us for his master plan.

Legendary guitarist Frehley, a founding member of KISS, will be blasting into The Guvernment on March 5 in Toronto.

A solo artist since the mid-eighties, the public has been awaiting the next Ace album since 1990’s Trouble Walkin’. Nearly 20 years later, his as-yet-to-be-titled album will be unleashed in 2008. Considering two decades have passed, Ace promises this will cure the hunger for his devilishly delicious rock n’ roll material.

I haven’t put out a solo album in a long time” he says, “and I made sure this one is special.”

Debuting his new live band: Derrek Hawkins (Guitar), Anthony Esposito (Bass), and Scot Coogan (Drums), this Rocket Ride will continue into 2008.

Burlington’s home town heroes, Finger Eleven made their triumphant re-entry into the music scene on March 6, 2007 with their fourth Wind-up Records release, Them vs. You vs. Me.  Most recognized for their international multi-format smash single “One Thing” from their previous self titled album, the band has once again rocketed into the limelight after a four year hiatus. Them vs. You vs. Me has reached Platinum status on the back of the band’s addictive hit “Paralyzer”. The massively successful single has broken the Rock Radio Record for most consecutive weeks at #1, contributed to the Platinum plus certification of ‘Them vs. You vs. Me’ in Canada, and positioned them at #10 on Billboards Top 100. Growing popularity for the band presented them with an invitation to appear at the 2007/2008 New Years Bash in Times Square, landed them a performance spot atop the CHUM building roof top for the MMVA’s, and placed them on heavy hitter programs such as Canada AM, Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson, and Regis & Kelly. The band continues their wave of success with a second #1 track at rock radio and a second #1 video at Much Music with the single ‘Falling On.’ The third single ‘I’ll Keep Your Memory Vague’ is currently top 10 and multiple formats and still growing.

Don’t miss Finger Eleven with special guests Chevelle on March 8th at Massey Hall!
