Has Rage Against the Machine crossed the fine line with their overprice tour tickets?

Did this band cross the line of the being anti corporate by overpricing tickets. They were $70.

"They want to stay anti-corporate and they want to keep everything free and not charge for things. Now, they want to charge $75 per ticket, and Alan Ginsberg charged between $25-$50 to see him read in the later years of his life."

Whew! It looks like son Wolfgang was the problem for two tour dates being canceled. I guess that means the kid should not have been part of the tour. Long live Michael Anthony?

PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS;

U.S. Leg Kicks Off This Friday In DENVER , CO

BURBANK, CA — After over 200 worldwide dates in the past three years, playing in over 20 countries including the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, Japan, France, Mexico, New Zealand and Italy among others, Rockstar Taste of Chaos, the only worldwide lifestyle festival tour, is back with another onslaught of winter arena shows in North America.

The tour (which kicks off its US leg this Friday in Denver, CO) has just announced four Canadian dates in April. The new dates are: Vancouver, BC (April 17 at PNE Forum), Calgary, AB (April 19 at Stampede Corral) Regina, SK (April 21 at Brandt Center) and Edmonton, AB (April 22 at Northlands Agricom).

The multi-artist package in Canada will feature AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ATREYU, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE plus very special guests.

The US leg features AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ATREYU, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, BLESSTHEFALL, IDIOT PILOT and JROCK buzzmakers MUCC, D‚ESPAIRSRAY and THE UNDERNEATH.

Having already spawned multiple soundtrack CDs and a Live DVD, the Rockstar Taste of Chaos, like its summer sibling the Van’s Warped Tour, is only getting bigger and better, offering fans the opportunity to see their favorite bands and take part in a number of concourse activities including playing the newest video games, acoustic performances, attending autograph signing sessions and a slew of interactive fan activities that will add to the experience.

Tour co-founders Kevin Lyman, Darryl Eaton and John Reese state, "We are very excited about the great bands and concourse activities planned for the 2008 North American Tour, as in years past we want to bring Music Fans a BIG show at a very reasonable price.  The RTOC has become an important event on music fans‚ calendars in the long, cold winter in the U.S. and Canada."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Avenged Sevenfold is poised to be¬†"¬†the next great American rock band¬†" (Guitar World). ¬†With the larger than life, awe-inspiring excitement of their live performances and "musicianship that is unimpeachable" (Entertainment Weekly), A7X continually strives to raise the bar. ¬†By self-producing their highly acclaimed self-titled October 2007 release, the Huntington Beach, CA hard rock band rose to the challenge and masterfully crafted an album that Revolver Magazine calls a¬†¬†"magnum opus.¬†"¬†¬†¬†Indeed the band’s follow-up to the 2005 million-selling City of Evil, topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard, and Rock Charts, and debuted at Number Four on the Billboard Top 200. ¬†In seeing Avenged Sevenfold live, you’ll experience what the Los Angeles Times witnessed as a¬†¬†"capacity crowd¬†come in devotion.¬†"¬†

ATREYU

Since muscling their way into the Orange County metal/punk scene in 1998, Atreyu (Alex Varkatzas, vocals; Dan Jacobs, guitar; Travis Miguel, guitar; Marc McKnight, bass; Brandon Saller, drums) have sold over a million albums by constantly challenging themselves and their audience with charged music and acrobatic performances that push the boundaries of catharsis and emotional exorcism. The band’s recently released album, Lead Sails Paper Anchor, fueled by the hit single "Becoming The Bull," rocketed onto Billboard’s Top 200 debuting at #8 and Billboard’s Rock and Hard Rock Album Charts at #1, making it the highest-charting album of the band’s career and landing them on the cover of Revolver Magazine, who called the disc "a coffin-tight collection of singles…the potential for hugeness is all over these 11 tunes…," while Metal Hammer declared it "a truly landmark album."

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE

The four-piece metal core band from Bridgend, South Wales, UK - Matthew "Matt" Tuck/vocals, Michael "Padge" Paget/Guitar, Michael "Moose" Thomas/drums, and Jason "Jay" James/Bass - are, according to the UK’s Kerrang!, well on their way to "phase two of world domination"¬†with their sophomore release, ‚ÄûScream Aim Fire,‚Ä∞ due out January 29, 2008 (Jive/¬†SonyBMG). ¬†The CD’s title track has been the Most Added Track at hard rock radio formats since mid-December. ¬†For their 2006 debut album,¬†"The Poison,"¬†Bullet For My Valentine graced the covers - at least once - of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, and Metal Hammer. ¬†In addition, they won Metal Hammer’s 2006 "Golden God Award" for Best British Band, and the 2006 Kerrang! Award for "Best UK Single" for their track "Tears Don’t Fall." ¬†Here in America, the band¬†was named "British Import of the Year" in Revolver, and¬†"The Poison" generated the hit singles "Tears Don’t Fall" and "All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)," with the video for "All These Things I Hate" going to the #1 spot on MTV2. ¬†

BLESSTHEFALL  (U.S. LEG ONLY)

One of the breakout acts from the Van‚Äös Warped Tour, Arizona‚Äös Blessthefall won over audiences on a daily basis thanks to their incendiary live show which included their jaw-dropping ‚Äûwall of death‚Ä∞ mosh pit. As the band‚Äös profile sky rocketed, resulting in over 6 million plays on Myspace, fans voted them into the top spot in the Energizer¬†"Demand It¬†" contest in Phoenix, Virginia Beach and Montreal, earning Blessthefall longer sets in each city on Warped Tour. Stalwarts of the Smartpunk Stage, the band saw its debut video for¬†"Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad¬†" enjoy a solid two-month run on MTV¬†’s¬†¬†"Headbangers Ball" ¬†and Fuse’s¬†"Uranium." ¬†A well oiled touring machine that takes no prisoners, Blessthefall has toured the U.S., Canada and Europe extensively with numerous established acts and held their own on the first year of the Radio Rebellion Tour. Be forewarned, Blessthefall will be a hard act to follow for any band on this year‚Äös Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour.

MUCC  (U.S. LEG ONLY)

In August 2006, the members of MUCC (pronounced "mukku"Àá) were featured as musical guests at Otakon, the largest Japanese culture convention on the East Coast, playing to two full houses at Rams Head Live in Baltimore. That was their ninth year. Now at a decade together, MUCC has proven itself to be not only prolific, having produced more than ten unique releases to date, but long-lasting–and with throngs of Stateside fans to boot.

D‚ESPAIRSRAY  (U.S. LEG ONLY)

This rock band, D’espairsRay, first crossed international borders in 2004 when Japanese bands were still unknown to foreign land. They started out activities abroad in Europe and debut stateside in 2005 for their very first American headline tour, hitting San Jose, San Francisco, and Dallas. In fall of the same year they played Europe once more and returned to West Coast America, opening for Genitorturers, playing in 8 states. In 2006, they released their first album in Europe and received tremendous response from local fans. They were also among the last few bands to play at the legendry rock club CBGB in New York. In summer, they were invited to participate in the Wacken Open Air metal festival in Germany again garnering vast attention from press and music lovers. In winter of 2006, they headlined a European tour, appearing at 14 venues in 8 countries, with their popularity only growing forth. In July 2007, they are also slated to appear at rock festivals in Finland.¬†¬†

THE UNDERNEATH (U.S. LEG ONLY)

The Underneath will make their world debut with JSHOCK DD LLC’s release of the album “MOON FLOWER.”  With members drawn from veteran hard rock band TRANSTIC NERVE, the Underneath is a fresh take on industrial metal with compelling live performances. Spring’s RTOC will be the band’s first tour overseas, building on the success of an exclusive concert in Los Angeles last summer.

BRET MICHAELS "ROCK OF LOVE" RATINGS SOAR, HIS SOLO TOUR IS SELLING OUT

BRET MICHAELS "ROCK OF LOVE" RATINGS SOAR, HIS SOLO TOUR IS SELLING OUT

NATIONWIDE, A NEW AUTOBIOGRAPHY DUE, AND HE’S HIT THE AIRWAVES EVERYWHERE!

VH1’s hit reality show “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels 2” is not only a mega

success itself taking the top spot numerous times on all of cablevision, but

it’s bachelor star has recently hit the network airwaves with special guest

appearances on television’s top talk shows like “Regis&Kelly”, “Ellen”, and

the “Conan O’Brien show”.

In addition to those accolades, late night television staples such as David

Letterman & Saturday Night Live have also given a nod to “Rock of Love” with

featured skits. SNL scored some of its highest ratings that week, they did a

10-minute "Rock of Love" sketch that was dead on perfect. One publication

cited the great imitation as a definite indication that the SNL staff had to

be avid "Rock of Love" viewers since they did such a great job with it!

Not only can you see Michaels on “Rock of Love” this spring but you will also

be able to read all about his life this fall when the singer’s much

anticipated authorized autobiography is released by renowned publishing

house, Simon and Shuster.

You’ll also be able to see Michaels in an all new light when The Biography

Channel premiers its “Biography” on Michaels set to air April 5, and when Fox

airs their special celebrity edition of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” featuring

Michaels in May.

A solo album titled “Rock My World” is set to be released in April and the

singer will be touring in support of the album starting this March.

Updated information on all projects can be found at both

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND LAUNCH 2008 TOUR TONIGHT

SONY BMG MUSIC (CANADA) INC.
Press Release

Date: 02/28/2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND LAUNCH 2008 TOUR TONIGHT

February 28, 2008-Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tonight will launch their 2008 tour in Hartford, CT at the HCC Arena, kicking off 55 tour dates that will span North America and Europe. Tour video highlights will be posted on brucespringsteen.net.

Check out this morning’s USA Today for a great interview feature on Springsteen: http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2008-02-27-springsteen_N.htm?loc=int

Their 2007 tour was met with rapturous critical response and rapid sell-outs. The Washington Post proclaimed, "Springsteen and his longtime band were simply great, performing a well-considered set with heightened intensity and a very clear sense of purpose… Springsteen remains one of the most potent live performers in popular music — largely because he’s among the most committed practitioners of the form, draining all of his creative energy every time he’s onstage."

Bruce Springsteen’s twenty-third album ‘Magic’ was released October 2 on Columbia Records and debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums Chart. Rolling Stone awarded the album five stars, saying, "A firm beat, some Telecaster sting and the robust peal of Clarence Clemons’ saxophone can still tell you more about the human condition than a thousand op-ed words."

‘Magic’ has been certified triple Platinum in Norway; double Platinum in Ireland and Sweden; Platinum in the United States, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Spain, and Canada; and Gold in the UK, Austria, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. On February 10, Springsteen won GRAMMY Awards for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance and for Best Rock Song for "Radio Nowhere."

Columbia Records recently released a digital bundle of the "Girls In Their Summer Clothes" single, including the "Girls In Their Summer Clothes" video directed by Mark Pellington ("Lonesome Day," Pearl Jam’s "Jeremy").

Spammers could make or break it if Led Zeppelin tour in 2008

This is funny. Those frigging spammers are trying to cash in off Led Zeppelin. As they anticipate a tour for 2008, they hope to sell the domain. Is it not still infringement on Led Zep’s patent use of their name?

Will touring Motley Crue be the same without Mick Mars?

Comment:

Exactly. If you have no intelligent input on the topic at hand other than "he’s is god", don’t click on the topics! Simple.

Oh wait, I have to remember I’m talking to fans of Nikki, it may not be as simple as I think. I hereby have come to the conclusion that they have no capacity to contribute anything of any intelligence, whatsoever.

Offtopic:

Frank doesn’t deserve half the respect he gets. Have you ever listened to this guy play bass? Truly listened? Wow, those lessons from Bobby Dall really payed off!!

Face it, without Mars, Motley would’ve been a joke and he knows it. Sure, he wrote most the songs, cheesy sophmoric lyrics aside; It was, Mars who took Sixx’s cheesy pop tart tunes and made them shred like a beast.

Have you lost all respect for Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue who will soon tour?

Have you lost all respect for Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue who will soon tour?

I lost all respect for Sixx as a person. He abandoned a stepson to
get back at his ex-wife. Low and cowardly. But,  it isn’t
surprising.  When his dear friend died, the guitar player from
Ratt, he couldn’t even muster the courage to bring his face to his
funeral! Now are these actions of a hero?  No one mentions that? He
didn’t even visit the man when he was on death’s door. Some friend.
Come on Sixx fan’s, say something. I would love to be
enlightened!    Underneath that charming persona, the guy is just
pockets full of insecurity and bitterness and it’s quite sad.
People like him usually die lonely, even when surrounded by
people.  Luckily, Donna is free!

Also, F**k Donna because everyone else has? That’s funny and oh so
witty! She was married to Sixx for almost 10 years and it’s safe to
say , she wasn’t the one who cheated and she remained faithful to
him.  If your trying to say that she bed a bunch of men because of
Sixx’s false statements in court about her being a prostitute, then
your facts are flawed; he couldn’t even back up those statements
and that’s why they were chucked and forgotten.  In the end, he’ll
get what’s coming to him, as will Donna. I see nothing but good
things for Donna.
