Heavy Heavy Low Low out to tour with Dillinger Escape Plan
HEAVY HEAVY LOW LOW
TOUR WITH DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN
AND THE BLED 4/7-4/12
NEW ALBUM DUE OUT ON NEW WEATHERMEN SUMMER 08!
Heavy Heavy Low Low have announced that they will be heading out on a string of dates with none other than Dillinger Escape Plan and The Bled this April! The band is really excited to head out with a legendary band like Dillinger, tells vocalist Robbie, “We’re all huge fans of Dillinger Escape Plan, and have been fans for years. I feel honored to be invited out with them and The Bled as well. We’ve been into these bands since we young kids going to shows, and saw them a bunch live, so it’s a big accomplishment to go from fans to being on stage with them.” The band spent the last few weeks in the recording studio working on their sophomore release for New Weathermen. The album is due out Summer 08, and is uniquely titled Turtle Nipple And the Toxic Shock. The band is recording in their hometown of Oakland, CA with good friend Sam Pura (North, Strata, Seize the Night), who did the EP that caught the attention of their New Weatherman home. The band has spent the past few months completing the new material, and Robbie would describe it as, “The Beach Boys on acid, basically. We really incorporate a surf rock, spacey vibe….It’s still heavy, don’t get me wrong, but this one will definitely exceed a half an hour in running time.” Turtle Nipple…is the follow up to the band’s eye-popping 2006 New Weathermen debut Everything’s Watched, Everyone’s Watching. Fans and media were quite taken with the album: Alternative Press profiled the group as a “Band To Watch” and Outburn said that they “may be the band to usher in a new era of hardcore music.”
The band is eager to get on the road, having spent the past 2 years trekking across the country with a wide range of touring partners from Foxy Shazam, Tero Melos and Dance Gavin Dance.to Europe with Fear Before March of Flames and The End. HHLL, made up of brother/rhythm section Christopher (drums) and Andrew (bass) as well as Danny (guitar/vocals), Ryan (guitar) and Robbie, spent last summer on powerhouse heavy music tour Sounds of the Underground alongside Shadows Fall, All that Remains, and Gwar. Past touring partners have included The Fall Of Troy, The Number 12 Looks Like You, Ed Gein, Protest The Hero and The Blackout Pact, to name a few. Led Zeppelin readies to do potential world peace concert reunion tours
Piling on the reunion rumour mill, Led Zeppelin have now been “tapped” to participate in an international peace concert. According to Rolling Stone, World Peace One would start a series of benefit shows for world peace (think Live Eight) around May 17. No bands have been confirmed.

Guitarist Nick Hipa posted:
"So [Sunday] night [February 24] [during AS I LAY DYING’s performance at the Sydney stop of Australia’s Soundwave festival] I got hit in the head by an empty glass Maker’s Mark bottle. While it did stun and disorient me, I am completely fine. Lucky for me the bottle was huge so it didn’t break and I have no need for stitches. I’m sorry we had to stop our set but I was quite discombobulated for a good while, and more importantly the EMT dude wouldn’t let me play because my head was bleeding quite a bit… or some sort of mumbo jumbo like that. I am happy to say that aside from having a bulbous lump and cut on top of my skull, I’m in good health and feeling like a gladiator. Thank you to everyone who has been expressing concern though, I really appreciate it."

It has been over twenty years since The Proclaimers made their legendary debut on the UK popular music program ‘The Tube,’ performing the classic song “Letters From America.” Back then the charts were dominated by the likes of Rick Astley and Sinita and the response to Craig and Charles Reid, two impassioned brothers from singing their hearts out in their own accents about serious political issues was extraordinary. It was the beginning of a phenomenon.
Within a month they were signed to Chrysalis Records and recording their debut album nine days later This Is The Story was finished. Another six weeks and it was in the shops. By December “Letter From America” was Number 3 in the UK singles chart and the album went Gold. A year of constant touring to sold-out crowds and an album of electrifying acoustic energy had paid off. A song about Scotland, its emigration, politics, industrial closures and the Highland clearances had reached the top of the pop charts.
Fast Forward to 2008, after releasing six studio albums, The Proclaimers are still riding the wave of success after twenty years and despite the lack of presence on the airwaves, they never did go far. They have provided crucial songs for soundtracks like ‘Shrek’ and headlined tours in the UK and North America proving they are still among the most dynamic and energetic live acts in the world.
Be sure to catch The Proclaimers perform to an intimate crowd at The Mod Club on April 17th!

After two critically acclaimed and massively successful solo acoustic tours, MATTHEW GOOD comes back for the first time in three years with a BRAND NEW BAND.
His most recent release - his 3rd solo recording – Hospital Music debuted at #1 on the Soundscan Chart in Canada, took the #1 spots for Alternative Album and Digital Album and just received a Juno Award nomination for Rock Record of the Year. The latest single "I’m a Window" sits in the Top 10 at radio, following the chart topping "Born Losers".
Matthew’s return to Canada in May, comes hot off a tour in the US where Hospital Music made some exceptional noise the week of its release. The album reached #17 at the iTunes USA store after “Born Losers” was downloaded more than 340,000 times while featured as the free download of the week. No small feat for an artist without a label in the US.
For more than a decade, Matthew Good has produced exceptional music that has grown and diversified as he has himself. Further, he has championed his beliefs by using what influence he has to speak out for human rights, true democratic freedoms, and equality for all people.
Be sure to catch Matthew Good performing live with a band for the first time in three years at Massey Hall on May 29th!

Kanye West is known for his rapid transformation from hip-hop beatmaker to worldwide hitmaker, in the last few years. He continues to amaze us with his flamboyant personality and dapper fashion sense that has set him apart from most of his rap peers.
Kanye’s latest Album Graduation sold almost a million copies in its debut week. "Can’t Tell Me Nothing" struck a chord in the ‘hood as Kanye had never done before, giving him his biggest street anthem. "Stronger" topped charts all over the world, and "Good Life" is still getting radio love months after its release. He hasn’t even officially put out "Flashing Lights" yet, and it’s already a club staple. Kanye led the 2008 Grammy nominations with eight, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, a category he’s nominated in twice.
At the young age of 19, Rhianna, the Barbados – born beauty, has already earned the coveted title of international superstar. In just three short years, Rihanna has helped define the path of popular music, accured multiple #1 hits, two MTV Video Music Awards and Three Billboard awards along her way.
With two successful albums under her belt in just two years, Rihanna dropped her third and most critically acclaimed LP, Good Girl Gone Bad in 2007. The album’s first single “Umbrella,” was the undisputed number one pop song of the summer and dominated the pop, urban and crossover charts for eight weeks in the U.S. As well was the #1 single in the U.K for 11 consecutive weeks. With the continued success of her latest album she has been nominated for six 2008 Grammy Awards. Rihanna’s impressive discography and a growing collection of the music industry’s most cherished awards have proven that this is only the beginning.
Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes are the most revolutionary production tandem in modern music since Quincy Jones and Rod Tempterton put down shuffle-beats and doo-wops behind a young singer named Michael Jackson. With their digital musical palette and vivid imaginations, they’ve taken their hip-hop foundation and un-tethered the bounds of pop, bestowing unsuspecting hit records in almost machine-gun-like succession – whether in rap (Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, et al), R&B (Usher, Babyface), pop (Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake) or rock (No Doubt). N.E.R.D is the offspring of the Neptunes id, a fly-or-die, thrash-around, do-as-you-will, set-your-soul-on-fire alter ego that subscribes to no rules, adheres to no agenda. It is Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shay Hayley – a trio whose chemistry allows the uninhibited exploration of the sounds, emotions and impulses of self and society, of identity and belonging.
Lupe Fiasco has trail-blazed his own path to critical acclaim. Possessing head-spinning wordplay and a topical range more akin to the underground than the mainstream, the 25-year-old lyricist has proven that talent can still make waves in the rap game. Since Lupe Fiasco debuted his first album in 2006 Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor (executive produced by good friend, and one-time mentor, Jay-Z) he has been nominated a remarkable three Grammy nominations - including Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song for "Kick Push." Now, ready to capitalize on such promise, Fiasco has returned with his second offering, Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool.
Don’t miss the Kanye West Glow In The Dark Tour co-starring Rihanna, N.E.R.D and Lupe Fiasco at The Molson Amphitheatre on May 21st 2008!
